The case for walk and talk therapies

In 2024, the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health published a narrative review of 277 peer-reviewed scientific articles from all around our big beautiful planet on the effects of interacting with nature. Findings are vast and include “a positive association between intentional time in nature and mental wellbeing, mood, calmness and wakefulness, subjective wellbeing, positive affect, quality of life, vigor, mindfulness, satisfaction with life, vitality, happiness, relaxation, and restorativeness.” Findings also include reduced symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression, and increased physical health outcomes.
